Well one of my friends is a pro driver (he drove for bimmerworld last year in the Continental Sports Car Challenge last year) and he was planning on coming by today to spend some time in AC (on the Nurburgring) because he plans on going there to drive and potentially do a few races there. I always thought that was very interesting, but never bothered to look into it. The UI just isn't the greatest.Īnyways, I've been trying to study my real track data more and more lately and have always noticed that "Import NetKar Pro/Import Assetto Corsa Data" option in the file menu. AIM has a free downloadable software called Race Studio that seems very hard to use on the surface, but once you watch a couple of their videos and spend some time with it, it's quite simple. This is a key tool for professional drivers these days. But I've recently been trying to learn how to use data to help me get faster on the track. I've been data logging my track days for years mainly for telemetry data overlays on my track videos. Now keep in mind I'm not an alien in sims or the fastest guy at the real track, but I'm fast enough to post respectable times in both realms. But that's totally okay because we are lucky enough to have such a fantastic simulator called Assetto Corsa. I have 2 kids with a 3rd on the way and I just have less and less time to get out there. I use sims to fill in a lot more seat time between going to the track. As some of you know I spend time on real race tracks with my cars, just hot lapping and trying to become a better driver.
